The project aims to introduce the visitors to a carpet by the artist Auguste Herbin, chosen by the public in a vote organised by the Espace de l'Art Concret, but which could not be shown because of the confinement. The aim is therefore to show this work from another angle, but also to introduce to the principle governing Auguste Herbin's work: synesthesia. The artist has established a plastic alphabet of correspondence between letters, sounds and colours. Thus, behind each of his abstract works lies a word and a melody. The artist often composed his paintings from words. The project will try to give a reading of the artist's approach by taking his Alphabet as inspiration, while departing from it to propose a modern, seductive and simplified version. Le projet vise à faire découvrir aux visiteurs un tapis de l'artiste Auguste Herbin, choisi par le public lors d'un vote organisé par l'Espace de l'Art Concret, mais qui n'a pas pu être montré à cause du confinement. L'objectif est donc de faire découvrir cette œuvre au public sous un autre angle, mais aussi, de lui faire découvrir le principe régissant l'œuvre d'Auguste Herbin, la synesthésie. L'artiste a établit un alphabet plastique de correspondance entre les lettres, les sons et les couleurs. Ainsi, derrière chacune de ses œuvres abstraites se cache un mot et une mélodie. Souvent, l'artiste composait ses tableaux à partir de mots. Le projet s'attachera à donner à lire la démarche de l'artiste en prenant pour son Alphabet pour inspiration, tout en s'en écartant pour en proposer une version moderne, séduisante et simplifiée.
